As is typical of historic home renovations this project on a remarkably well preserved 18th century urban street requires reconsidering the orientation of the home's plan. The historic pedestrian life of the house oriented towards the sidewalk and the local community has been replaced by an automobile commuter existence that enters and leaves the home at its rear.

Our client requires interior finish and first floor renovation work to accommodate a family member with cerebral palsy. A wheelchair accessible addition is planned at the rear of the house and an attic renovation will provide a guest bedroom and a half-bath.
