As a new member of Bent Architecture, Julie brings to the firm design skills that span the disciplines of architecture, graphic design and web development.

Julie is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she earned her Masters of Architecture. Her written thesis explored the creation of sacred architecture within secular culture. This theoretical work was the basis for a design thesis sited in downtown Boston. Julie redesigned the Government Center MBTA Station and Boston City Hall Plaza to create an environment intimately connected to the natural and human phenomena of this highly public urban crossroads.

As a graduate student, she had the opportunity to be part of a team of designers which spent time in Xylokastro, Greece creating architectural and urban planning elements aimed to revitalize the town for the upcoming Olympics in nearby Athens, Greece.

Julie completed her BA in Studio Art in 1999 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. As an undergraduate she developed her skills in drawing and photography, yet ultimately chose to concentrate in ceramics. This interest in 3-dimensional, functional art made for a natural transition for her into architectural training.
