Bent architecture's clients purchased this 5,500 square foot 1890's home a few years after it had been sadly gutted to create open loft-like interiors not in keeping with the original construction.

The redesign completely renovated the house and restored the character, as well as the spatial and architectural quality of the original interiors in three primary ways: by restoring the vestibule and grand central hall on the first floor, by recreating the generous main stair as a vertical spatial axis between all three main floors and extending it to the basement, and by partitioning the floors into rooms that approximated the originals but which met the needs of the new owner.

"... we found [Bent Architecture] to be
reliable and responsive as our needs and budget became more clearly defined."

"We especially like the small hall adjacent to the master bath on the second floor and the new door onto the sun room you proposed. Your vision here turned a somewhat disjointed and awkward plan into an efficent and comfortable home that flows nicely."
